Sietske Pelgrum
When intuition takes over
Siets, born in 1986 as Sietske Pelgrum, has been working as an independent artist since 2011. She started her art career as a graphic designer and quickly got interested in photography. When working as an art director she started expanding her creativity in creating art. Nowadays she is a full time autonomous artist and is constantly developing her art.
Her artistic development from the subconscious to the conscious is reflected in the subject matter, style and technique of her works. Within a couple of years her style grew from digital design to mixed media paintings and digital drawings. Her artwork is influenced by expressionism, surrealism and symbolism.
The artworks are mostly figurative, with animal and human features morphing
into one another. While working she lets her creativity flow and intuition take over. There is no preconceived plan, her work is a reflection of the transformative processes she goes through.
